In our lab, we believe that science is strongest when it draws on a wide range of lived experiences, perspectives, and ideas. We are committed to fostering a respectful, collaborative, and supportive research environment where all individuals are valued and given the opportunity to grow as scientists. We value curiosity, creativity, persistence, and are committed to mentorship that fosters each individual’s potential. We strive to uphold a culture of professionalism, fairness, and integrity in all that we do. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior has no place in the Jimenez Lab.

Join MInDS (Mentoring to Inspire Development in Science)!

Mentoring is integral to our work because science is not just about producing knowledge, but also about disseminating knowledge and building the next generation of critical thinkers. Mentoring is central to scientific success in the Jimenez Lab and the field of science in general.

Mentoring to Inspire Development in Science (MInDS) is an outreach group comprised of graduate-level students of the Cellular, Molecular, Developmental Biology, and Biophysics PhD Program (JHU KSAS Biology Department). The group is open to graduate students across Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and undergraduates who are committed to science education through peer mentorship and outreach.
